I got married when I was 25 and had a baby just a couple months later. Both of those things are major life changes and society often tells you “WAIT!! Don’t rush! Plan it more! Keep planning! Things MIGHT GO WRONG!!”... and in a sense they’re totally right. Things do go wrong. BUT...

You can spend forever planning and planning and plan more than that. You can avoid rushing by putting it off… in fact you can procrastinate so long that you die with it never getting done (real talk). BUT, on the other hand.... You can put on your swimsuit, walk to the edge of the ocean and force yourself to keep taking steps even though you know there are sharks somewhere in that ocean. I guarantee you there are stingrays somewhere near that shore. There’s big fish with big teeth too. But there’s also amazing coral, beautiful fish, very busy crabs and delightful ocean plants that love the warm glow of the sun. Even though it *can* be a dangerous world, it’s also a glorious world, filled with life and brilliance. But you will never sneak a peek at these marvels if you spend forever planning your first step to the shore.

Make today the day that replaces “delay” with “decision”. Dip your toe in that ocean and see what awaits you. You just may discover that scuba diving is your new favorite thing; you may realize you have wasted years of your life not doing your passion!
