Genuine Advice for New Online Sellers Part 4: Finding Ways to Improve Every Day

Posted by Big Brand Wholesale.com on 7th Mar 2020

Every day, ask yourself “What is one thing I can do to make my business better?”, then get it done. About a year ago one of my employees made the suggestion of getting one of those giant wall calendars and every day writing stuff we have done to improve. Yes, even after 15 years we find a way, every single day, to improve! This can be simple stuff like writing a great blog post that helps people or it can be more complex, such as adding a new Category or Sub Category to our site or writing a nice Thank You note to a customer who was really great for whatever reason, or it can be a massive undertaking, such as the mobile app we are currently having developed. Starting this calendar has really helped us strive to always improve because it is really easy to fall into routine and stop evolving.

Here’s a list of things you might be able to do each day to improve your business:

  1. Start a Facebook
  2. Start a G.Page (Google Review Page)
  3. Start a SnapChat

  22. Thank a good customer

  39. Redo your Facebook About Us
  40. Spend time learning a new beneficial skill such as basic html, basic css, photo editing, video editing, advertising / marketing, etc
  41. Look into advertising methods for your type of selling. YES, even if you only sell on Amazon you CAN advertise!!
  42. Take a fun video showing your family to your Subscribers
  43. Start a Mailing List or send out a mailing list blast
  44. Look at other sellers with similar products and make a list of what you like about their site or listings
  45. Get out a notebook and find your “relaxation zone”. This could be sitting outside or on your couch with a candle lit. Brainstorm ideas called “Ideas for Improving Sales”
  46. Design some advertisement banners that you can post on the internet
  47. Go to online forums about whatever you are selling and answer questions helpfully then point people at your company / products

  49. Delete stuff on your computer that you no longer need. Free up space and reorganize your pc folders and files.
  50. Dust off your computer, keyboard and ziptie the pc cord mess so it is neat and tidy
  51. Buy a little plant (real or fake) to go on your desk. It’s a nice thing to have. If you get a real plant it can grow with you. :) Awwwww.
  52. Get out the notebook and write “1 YEAR GOALS” then divide those goals into quarters (every 3 months). For example, “my goal for the next three months is to increase sales to $250 per month”. Then decide your Plan of Action to achieve these goals.
  53. Find a motivational quote you really like and print it and hang it or save it as your desktop background
