New Sellers: 15 LIES New Online Sellers Believe are True

If you're a brand new seller you likely have many misconceptions; this is ok! We all start out the same way. However, here's 15 most common lies that, unfortunately, dupe most new sellers and stunt their growth:
1. If I can’t make at least $30 I don’t want to waste my money on it! (FACT: Did you know, the most popular individual Mens tee listing on eBay in 2021 is, surprisingly, this Mens Heavyweight (Plain) Tee that sells for under $6 a piece (+ $2.50 shipping). This boring tee has sold almost 60,000 TIMES! (that's $360,000 gross off this one listing!). Even if the seller only made $1.75 profit per sale, they have made almost $120,000…. Off a $6 item!!!!)
2. Plain items DON’T SELL! It has to be super special! (Actually, the #1 most searched for clothing item on eBay is a plain Mens shirt! Over 15% of eBay Clothing searches are for Mens Tees! Second place went to Mens Socks (a little over 13% of searches) and third place is Mens Hats.

4. You have to have a license to buy wholesale at good prices! (FACT: You do not need a license to purchase through us! Check out the incredible wholesale brands we carry. )
5. Only Size ___ Sells (TRUTH: All sizes sell online!!!)

8. I can’t afford a good computer! (FALSE! Learn how to get a great computer on the cheap!)
9. People only wear ___ brand. (FYI: We STILL get emails asking for Ed Hardy, black lipstick and fishnet tights!)
10. Nobody wears _____. (FACT: Yes, people DO wear white jeans. People do wear yellow shirts. People even wear pink parkas covered in gemstones. Women DO wear 9" high heels! Just because you don't like it doesn't mean people don't wear it!)
11. I can’t make money if I pay over $5 for it! (TRUTH: Usually, the higher priced items sell for a larger amount of money which equals larger profit. For example, if you buy a $20 retail shirt for $5 and you sell it for $10, you have made $5. However if you buy a $400 shirt for $100 and sell it for $200, you have made $100!)
12. You can’t make money online. You have to have an actual store! (OMG this is so FALSE! Read INCREDIBLE Statistics about eCommerce. In fact, as someone who has owned online stores AND boutiques in numerous locations, I can absolutely tell you that the online stores NET way more income because the cost is lower! Don't believe me? 13. I can't afford shipping supplies! (Yes you can! First read our How to Ship Cheap, But Good Guide then check out all of our articles about Cheap, Yet AWESOME Shipping Supplies). If you cater your product offering to fit cheap shipping supplies you will automatically save tons of money! Obviously items like fragile drinking glasses or delicate decor are going to need substantially more supplies than selling a t-shirt. A purse likely needs a box whereas a
