9 Questions that Drive Wholesalers Crazy

9 Questions that Drive Wholesalers Crazy

Posted by Big Brand Wholesale.com on 10th Feb 2021

I know as an online seller you get asked questions that frustrate you beyond belief.  These questions are usually totally stupid or due to a buyers failure to READ the listing.  So today I thought it would be fun to share with you most annoying questions we are asked on a regular basis.  Let's begin:

1. Do you sell wholesale? Clearly you can see why this drives us insane.  For starters, our company name is "Big Brand WHOLESALE"... what do you think we sell?  Pancakes???

2. How much does it cost? No online seller or wholesaler has a set cost for everything because we are not a Dollar Store. Would you call the local grocery store and ask what the cost of their items are? Obviously items have different prices. 10 Prada Sunglasses are not going to cost the same as 10 Walmart slipper socks. And that isn’t going to cost the same as 500 pairs of designer jeans or 9 pallets of swimwear.   ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

3. How much are pallets? A pallet is a piece of wood.  If you want to buy a wood pallet you can get them used for $10 - $30.  HOWEVER, the merchandise set on top of the pallet is what you pay for. A pallet can hold one lawn mower, three refrigerators or 2,500 tank tops. There is no such thing as a standard cost for pallets.  A pallet of North Face coats is going to be a different price than a pallet of pillows or a pallet of used t-shirts.

4. I need (this specific item in this specific size and color)!  We are not personal shoppers. If you need a very specific item try eBay or Amazon.  Most wholesale companies are small businesses that move tens-of-thousands or hundreds-of-thousands of pieces of merchandise per month.  Because we sell wholesale our profit margin is low.  We reply on speed and repeat business to stay in business.  We apologize but we do not have time to find "One pair of Blue-and-White Acid-Wash Calvin Klein Jeans in size 4, skinny high rise only.  No lace or embellishments!" for you.

5. "I see you have a listing for 50 pieces of Under Armour pullovers for $649.50, so can I just buy 1 of them for $12.99 because that's the price they end up being per piece if I was to buy all 50" As mentioned, wholesale companies make little profit. We stay in business by selling in bulk quantity. If you only want one piece we cannot sell it to you for the same price-per-piece that we are selling a Lot with 40 pieces in it.  Additionally, almost no wholesalers want to sell by the piece because we would have to mess up our case-counts and inventory.  If you want one item, there's awesome listings on Poshmark and other sites for you.  No, it's not going to be $12.99.

6. I will buy this but I need it to cost half the price! Again, we make little but we rely on bulk sales. We would love to cut the price in half but if we do we will literally LOSE money!  As much as we love our buyers we also have to stay in business.

7. I need you to send me photos of multiple angles of every item that I can use in my listings. What you need is an employee, not a wholesaler.  No wholesale company is going to do this for you because we are a small business, just like you.

8. I need you to guarantee Amazon Ungating. There is absolutely no company that sells designer brands and can also promise you will be able to sell them on Amazon. Ungating is something YOU have to do.

9. Just email me all of your listings and prices. Trust me sister, it is so much easier to look at our site.  If we were to Export our website into an Excel Sheet it would be thousands of pages long!
