Online Sellers: Understanding Perfume EDP vs EDT: What’s the Difference?

Most online sellers love to list body care products and have found that perfume (and cologne) usually have a great profit margin, especially if they are limited edition and / or discontinued. But today we are going to discuss the difference between EDP and EDT.

By looking at the image above you can see that the orange color inside of each bottle represents the concentration of perfume (oil) whereas the yellow color represents other ingredients which are typically water, Ethanol (alcohol) and more.
So, Eau de Toilette or “EDT” contains as little as 5% perfume oil and as much as 15%. Whereas Eau de Parfum or “EDP” contains at least 15% perfume oil and as much as 20%.
This means that an EDT or an EDP could be 15% perfume oil, however only an EDP can have a higher percentage.
According to Acharr.com An EDT typically lasts up to 6 hours on skin and around 10 hours on clothes whereas an EDP is designed to lasts up to 10 hours on skin and around 16 hours on clothes.
