If you're an online seller who is utilizing YouTube to market your products or company, here's new, updated data regarding the best time and days to post your videos for maximum views.

It's important to understand that what worked great in 2010 changed by 2015 and what worked perfectly in 2015 changed by 2020.  YouTube is different from other social media because the best time to post depends on the day you are posting.  The reason for the Day-versus-Time fluctuation is due to the amount of time it takes YouTube to index your new video, because until the video is indexed, it will not be emailed to your subscribers and will not discoverable by non-subscribers. Here's the current best times to post videos to YouTube, as of 2021 / 2022:

DAYS: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

BEST TIMES: 2-4 p.m. 

Videos posted midday on the first three days of the week get the most user engagement since it gives the platform time to index the videos and send them to subscriber newsfeeds.

DAYS: Thursday and Friday

BEST TIMES: 12-3 p.m. 

A slightly earlier time frame appears to work better on Thursdays and Fridays. Thursdays and Fridays are the peak days to post on YouTube as a brand.

DAYS: Saturday and Sunday

BEST TIMES: 9-11 a.m. 

Studies have concluded that earlier YouTube posts work best on the weekends.  This makes a lot of sense because when it comes to email marketing, the best time on weekends to send an email (for maximum opens) is typically after dinner.  With this in mind, a YouTube video posted before noon will be indexed by dinner time.
