There's some craziness going on with Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp today, all of which are owned by Facebook.  

When the world tried to access their personal and business accounts today, 10-4-21 they were met with this error message instead:

We don't know what specifically is going on but we know it started this morning with Facebook stock crashing:

By 11:45am EST on 10-4-21 all three of the Facebook sites went offline. This event quickly made "#FacebookDown" trending on Twitter.  

A deeper dive shows that essentially every asset of Facebook is 100% knocked out:
