Buying Wholesale: How Many Pieces is a “Pair of Socks? Am I Charged for 1 or 2 Pieces?

Posted by Big Brand Wholesale.com on 16th Jun 2021

This may sound like a stupid, crazy or even silly question however it is one of the most popular questions we are asked when a Lot contains socks, so here’s the answer:

First, let’s define terms:

This is a PAIR of socks:

As you can see, a “Pair of Socks” contains one sock of the right foot and one sock for the left foot.

This is a SET of socks:

A set may contain 2 PAIRS, 3 PAIRS or even 10 PAIRS. Regardless, a SET contains more than 1 PAIR.

In the Wholesale industry, 1 PAIR of socks counts as 1 item, even though it is one right foot and 1 left foot = 2 individual pieces of sock. So, when you buy this:

You are charged for 1 piece.

Equally, though BigBrandWholesale.com, when you purchase a Lot with a sock Set, this also counts as 1 item:

Equally, two SETS of socks would count as two items:

And Three sets of socks would be Three items:

If what you are buying is 3 PAIRS of individual socks it would also count as 3 items if it is not A SET:

IF ANY WHOLESALER IS TRYING TO CHARGE YOU FOR A SINGLE PIECE OF SOCK, DO NOT BUY THROUGH THEM!!!

Because unless you are a sock puppet Etsy seller, you likely have no use for an individual piece of sock.
