Amazon is FINALLY Really Cracking Down on Counterfeit Sellers!

Amazon is FINALLY Really Cracking Down on Counterfeit Sellers!

Posted by Big Brand on 20th Nov 2021

A good friend of ours just sent us an email he received from Amazon regarding his recent purchase.  This email details that Amazon is taking extra measures to eliminate counterfeit merchandise from their site AND even issuing full refunds (without needing to return the product) to those who have been duped into investing in fake brand name merch.  Here's the email in full:

Dear Customer,

We're contacting you about order for the following item(s):

Grill Cover 7130 for Weber Genesis II 3 Burner/300 Series Grills and Genesis II LX 300 Series Gas Grills (58 X 25 X 45 inches)

At Amazon, customer trust is our top priority, and we go to great lengths to provide you with vast and authentic selection, fast delivery, and low prices. As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that you can shop with confidence in Amazon's stores, we recently learned the product you received from a third-party seller is likely not an authentic Weber product. We're sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.

If you still have this product, we recommend that you stop using it immediately and dispose of the item. There's no need for you to return the product. We've issued a refund of to your original payment method. Refunds are applied to the payment method used for the original purchase and typically complete within 3 to 5 business days.

If you purchased this item for someone else, please notify the recipient and let them know they should dispose of the item.

Amazon has zero tolerance for counterfeit products. As a result, we've taken action against the supplier of this product and removed their ability to supply products for sale in Amazon’s stores. If you would like to purchase a replacement, authentic products are available in our store.

So as you can see from the email above, Amazon appears to be taking knockoff products VERY seriously!  I am not sure what happens on the sellers end, when they get busted selling fakes.  Obviously their Amazon account is closed, but I would guess that the funds in their account are frozen immediately.

As always, we will keep you updated as we learn more!

THANK YOU, AMAZON for addressing this MAJOR problem!!!!
