Woman Tries to Burn Down Michigan USPS; Police Post Arrest Reward

As online sellers I think most online sellers can relate to being so overly frustrated with the post office that you reach your breaking point... just like this lady. 

I saw this article on MyFenton.com and wanted to share it with you. Oakland County sheriff’s deputies responded to the United States Post Office at 376 Beach Farm, Highland Township in Oakland County at 10:03 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 26 for a burglary alarm.

Upon arrival, deputies observed flames and smoke in the front lobby. The Highland Township Fire Department (HTFD) responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The lobby of the Post Office is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. There is extensive damage of well over $100,000. No injuries were reported.

The HTFD requested an OCSO Fire Investigator for a cause and origin investigation. A representative from the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office provided surveillance video of the incident. The video revealed a female subject entering the lobby, igniting paper, and placing it inside of a trash receptacle. The unknown white female was described as wearing a black hat, gray coat, carrying a red handbag and wearing white tennis shoes.

There is a reward of up to $5,000 from the Arson Prevention Reward Program via the Detroit Crime Commission for information leading to an arrest and an additional $1,000 reward from Crime Stoppers. Go to detroitcrimecommission.org for reward details.
