Enter the weird world of the most underrated item to sell: The Doormat.  Yes, you read that correctly.  I know what you're thinking, which is exactly what I was thinking, which went something like, "WTF? Doormats?  Seriously?  No friggin' way."

When you are picking inventory, I can almost guarantee that the last thing you consider is investing in Doormats, but here’s six pretty shocking statistics (2021):

1. Doormat sales growth is growing at almost 150% PER YEAR, every year. Why? Heck if I know, but facts don’t lie!

2. Specifically, people want unique doormats. This means people aren’t necessarily looking for the plain 1980 black doormat. Instead they want fun, flair, chic, trendy and unique.

3. In fact, people don’t seem to care if the doormat “works” providing it looks awesome.

4. The only people who give weight to the effectiveness of a doormat are commercial businesses. Yes, these buyers actually want it to serve its purpose.

5. When it comes to doormats, people search the internet for four main types. The top search is for the standard word “Doormats” (almost 250,000 searches every single month!). The next most popular searches are “Funny Doormats”, “Indoor Doormats” and “Outdoor Doormats”. If you add all of these searches together, almost A HALF MILLION people are scoping out buying a doormat every month of the year. This means 6 MILLION humans are craving a doormat this year, but at 150% growth, next year 15 MILLION will be shopping for them.

6. The top country of Doormat buying is AU. Apparently our friends “Down Under” are even more crazy than us Americans when it comes to their entryways!
