CHEAPEST EVER Hose Guide Guards to Protect Your Garden Plants

Posted by Big Brand Wholesale.com on 31st May 2021

Although this blog is primarily geared toward online selling I do quite enjoying sharing ways to save money because I firmly believe that saving money is just as valuable as earning money (heck, it might even be more valuable because you don't have to spend time saving money but you do have to spend time earning money!)  So today I am going to show you the most-awesomest-EVER hack I came up with a couple weeks ago.

My problem was my hose kept plowing over my garden plants - I assume you have this identical problem being that you are reading this article.  My first thought was to look for Garden Hose Guides on Amazon.  I found tons of nice ones, but OMG, $40 EACH?!

I would need to spend like $800 to do my whole yard!  You have got to be out your mind if you think I'm dropping that kinda cash on some hose guards!  And the frog hose guide is super cute, but NOT $40 worth of cute (if he was $10 I'd be more inclined to buy). So I started thinking of how I can devise a plan.  Eventually it dawned on me.... CURTAIN RODS!!!!

I knew curtain rods are technically two pieces and that you can buy them with awesome, decorative ends plus they offer more height than the cute $40 frog hose guard so the next step was to find cheap, but beautiful curtain rods that are able to be left outside without issue.

As I always do, I immediately began prowling Amazon and I landed on this incredible 4 PACK of the most perfect ever curtain rods

Now keep in mind that EACH rod is going to be TWO hose guards, so this 4-Pack of curtain rods ended up being 8 INCREDIBLE hose guards

The price for the set of 4 (which turned into 8 total hose guards) was $32, which equals only $4 per guard!  That's a heck of a lot less than the single $40 frog!  I'll admit it, I impressed myself with this one  ;)

As far as installing them, a rubber mallet and a little time was all that was needed.  This is the exact mallet I bought and its AMAZING:

I had to have my husband put 2 in for me because the ground was very dense in that area because here in my area of Michigan we have thick clay and rock soil.

Now keep in mind, I have to expertise in this field, I'm just telling you what worked awesome for me.  If I had to guess, I would say to avoid styles with glass-type decorative ends.  I only say this because I don't know how it would hold up being rubber-pounded into the ground.  As far as the metal / iron (whatever they are) ones that I got, they took their beating like a champ!  I would absolutely recommend checking out the exact listing I purchasedchecking out the exact listing I purchased

I hope this quick post helps you save some money this summer  :)   Be sure to check out the Amazon Curtain Rod Sets and Curtain Rods
